"I bought these about a month ago and wanted to give them a thorough try before sharing my experience! I have a pretty oily scalp but I can get away with washing every other day depending on factors like products used, weather/humidity, etc. My hair is straight, copious in density, and fine to medium-fine in texture, with healthy ends, and flat by default. It can get weighed down somewhat easily but at the same time, conditioners geared toward my hair type often don’t give me enough slip! Despite my low maintenance hair, products are a trial and error for me and I’ve probably spent too much money trying to find a go-to. The short of it is, unfortunately this isn’t the shampoo/conditioner combo for me, but I gave it 4 stars because I think they are absolutely great products to try that I can see others loving! Haircare is so personal and my experience wasn’t a matter of the products not being good, but how they worked with my chemistry. What I appreciate: - For higher end, the price is reasonable, especially when you buy during a sale. There are other brands that are selling less product for more money, and if you’re going to venture outside the drugstore, these are totally worth your consideration! - The sophisticated and refreshing herbal scent! Even high end products can smell generic to me and this fragrance felt custom, luxurious, but not overpowering. If you like herbaceous, green, earthy scents, you’ll like this duo. - Great slather with the shampoo, and great slip with the conditioner - Very pleasing packaging! I hope the brand considers offering refills! Why they didn’t work for me: - Shampoo: I prefer washing my hair every other day when I can get away with it, but I felt my scalp get oily faster using this shampoo. I was surprised because it’s described as clarifying but to me it almost seemed to be more on the moisturizing side. So if you’re someone with a dry scalp who tends to steer clear of clarifying shampoos, this may be worth considering! - Conditioner: This detangled beautifully and it has a very slippy, silicone-y texture. Now, I’ll say, my strands looked glossy and smooth! But because my hair is straight, fine and flat by default, this made me feel almost tooo sleek, if that makes sense? I know that doesn’t sound like a problem but because I don’t heat style or color my hair, my hair is already smooth as it and I need texture and volume! While these didn’t work for me, I enjoyed trying them out! I’d have initiated a return if I could if only to save money and continue my search, but since I’ve just missed the window, I gave them away to someone who will appreciate a little luxury. :) I also bought the Quench & Shine Restorative duo but haven’t given it a proper go yet. I’m already thinking they may not be for me either given my experience with these + the hydration claims, but you never know!"
