Ask Colleen

~

Welcome to the very first edition of my new blog series, #AskColleen.

Have you ever wondered if you are applying your skincare in the correct order? Maybe you’re not sure which serum is best for your skin type. Or perhaps you just want to know what my favorite Netflix show is this month.

I’m so excited to connect with you all and answer all of your burning questions. At the bottom of this post, I have all of the info you need to ask your own questions, so keep reading!

Are Colleen Rothschild Skincare products safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Our products are safe for topical use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

However, I always like to remind my new and expecting mommas out there that using any type of Retinoid if you are pregnant or currently breastfeeding is not recommended. Retinoid is a type of vitamin A that can be harmful in large doses.

Although our Retinol Treatment Complex does not contain Retin-A (aka: retinoid, the prescription), we suggest consulting with your doctor about products that you have any questions or concerns about.

What products do you recommend for rosacea?
I get questions about rosacea and redness ALL the time. So many women suffer from overly sensitive skin, and I wish I had a one-size fit all answer for you all!

I recommend trying a routine with the Radiant Cleansing Balm, Vitamin C Treatment, and Sheer Renewal Cream to start.

Congested pores could be why you are seeing excessive redness. Our best selling Radiant Cleansing Balm can alleviate that congestion, plus, the aromatic complex of the Balm can calm and decongest overexposed skin. The Vitamin C Treatment Complex is formulated to help improve natural radiance and the appearance of hyperpigmentation. Layering on the Sheer Renewal Cream will seal in the Treatment and protect against environmental aggressors that could be further agitating your skin.

As with any medical condition, I always recommend speaking with your doctor or dermatologist before trying a new routine.

I am currently using the Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum at night. Can this be used on the same day as the Retinol Treatment Complex?
Yay! I am so excited that SO many of you are trying our new Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum! It is such a game-changing product.

Because the Mandelic Acid Serum is essentially an exfoliator/gentle peel, I do not recommend using it with any retinol on the same day. But I know you ladies love using your retinols!

My suggestion is to alternate the two – use the Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum Monday/Wednesday/Friday then use the Retinol Treatment Complex Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. Simple as that - you get the benefits of both ingredients!

On Sunday, take a break and try the Age Renewal Super Serum. The Serum effectively fights the six signs of aging and is a great way to boost any moisturizer, especially our Extreme Recovery Cream.

I am thrilled with my relatively new CR skin care regimen. My former night-time routine was Age Renewal Super Serum combined with the amazing Face Oil No.9. Now that I have purchased the Mandelic Acid Radiance Serum, I’m no longer sure about the combination effect. What would you recommend? Thank you.

    Colleen,
I just wanted to thank your customer service team I asked for a sample of the face no 9 oil to try before ordering and they sent it in a separate envelope post my original order. I love the balm and new mandelic serum.
The face oil will be my next purchase and it is because they sent me a sample to try and I love it.
My skin has always been great , but I am getting older and want to maintain great skin.
I am in Arizona and it is very dry and the oil just absorbs quickly and does give a great glow with no foundation.
Keep up the great products and thank you again for the CS team reading my wants for a sample to try.
    Jeannie
